Losing weight takes a lot of time and effort. It works to your advantage to be as prepared as possible when setting weight loss goals. With that said, below are what many consider the foundation to any weight loss exercise program. I guess you can say they are the best exercises to lose weight.
Calorie burning exercises:
Weight loss essentially takes place when you burn off more calories than the body consumes. Naturally, you want to focus on exercises that accomplish this task quickly and effectively.
In order to burn off excess calories, you are going to need to incorporate some form of cardio into your exercise routine.
Below are some sample cardio exercises. In order to increase your chance of success, stick with exercises that you enjoy.
Running - This is an excellent way to burn off calories. Burn off roughly 100 pounds for running a mile (may differ depending on your body type and fitness level).
Racquetball - Does running sound a bit too boring for you? Go ahead and give racquetball a try. Racquetball is an intense sport that will have you running back and forth as you attempt to outsmart your opponent Burn an average of 350 calories per 30 minute work out session.
Tennis - One of my favorite ways to break a sweat. An hour of Tennis will equal about 400 calories burned.
Swimming - Do you suffer from joint pain? If so, you may want to consider a water based sport. Swimming at a moderate to
vigorous pace will have getting rid of those unwanted pounds in no time. A 30 minute swimming session will burn off about 200 calories.
Include variety:
You need to include variety in your workouts. This is true regardless of the exercise that you decide to implement. Our
body is smart and will adapt to any intensive workout you throw at it. So what happens after your body figures out your
workout routine? It essentially means that you will burn less calories for the same amount of exercise.
Stay commited:
Some of the exercises listed may sound boring or uninteresting to some. If they are not what you are into, that is
completely fine. There are many more calorie burning exercises to choose from. One thing that I recommend, is that you
choose an exercise program that is both challenging and something that you enjoy.
Cardio is a must:
Cardio is the key to effective weight loss. You are not going to lose weight by lifting weights or doing countless sit ups.
If cardio is not your cup of tea, I suggest that you find ways to make it interesting. Effective weight loss takes place when diet and exercise work in synergy. Put both into practice and you are well on your way to the body that you desire.
